Engagement

New Orleans City Park + Longvue House | Engagement Session | Sam + Eli

August 21, 2019

How did you meet?
We met through mutual friends at a Kid Cudi Concert, then ran into each other at a Flume Concert, and then again at a Phantogram Concert! We decided if we liked enough of the same music we probably had other similar interests and going on a date seemed like the natural next step. By the end of the first date, we already planned our second.. a concert just three days later.

What has been the most stressful part of planning a wedding?
So far the overall planning hasn’t been terribly stressful. I think mostly due to that fact that we are having a long engagement and are able to take our time, but also because we both enjoy planning and have really done this as a team.

How did he propose?
We were traveling in Argentina. We learned Dove Hunting there is considered the Best in the World, so we booked a couple of nights with an outfitter in Cordoba. On the second day of hunting, I asked our guide to take our pictures, at which point I got down on one knee. Luckily she heard me through the ear plugs and said YES! We finished the trip by celebrating in the Mendoza Wine Country which led to a truly magical engagement.

What steps are you taking to prepare for married life?
Planning more for the future. I used to only plan for the weekend, maybe a month. Now I find myself planning for years down the road. Also, we now make decisions together and get the other one’s opinions on most things. Moving from the mindset of “I” to “we”.

While planning your wedding, what are you most excited about?
New Orleans has always been one of my favorites cities in the world. The idea of getting married here and sharing this unique experience with the most important people in our lives is very exciting.

THE GIRL WITH THE CAMERA

MEET TASHA

laidback vibes meets super-profesh resume

With or without my camera, I’ve built a life that lives at the intersection of chill and reliable. Which basically means for my couples that I make their photography fun without ever being pushy. You tell me what you need and I’m there with a smile.

If I wasn’t a photographer, I’d be a walking tour guide. Nothing inspires me quite like the gorgeous mansions, grand old oaks, and colorful culture that makes New Orleans vibrant. Instead of going on a tour, though, I get to explore all these amazing places when I’m there to photograph you and your wedding. How lucky am I!?!

MEET
JACOB

self-taught meets self-motivated

Eight years ago, I fell hard for documenting weddings when Tasha started bringing me in to assist. It combines everything I love—getting to meet new people (if you can’t find me ever, it’s because I’m becoming best friends with your dad), experiencing new things, and creating something lasting while I’m at it.

Outside of videography, you can find me literally outside. I love to kayak, rock climb, and get out and explore with my family.
